Professor Edward Chadwick

Ed Chadwick is Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Aberdeen in the UK. He has extensive experience in upper limb musculoskeletal modelling, working closely with clinicians in the development of assistive technologies for upper limb function. He has a background in Mechanical Engineering, and completed his PhD in Bioengineering at Strathclyde University in 1999. He spent foundational years as a post-doc at the TU Delft working on biomechanical modelling, and applying these models to motor impairment problems at the Cleveland FES Center in the USA, before returning to develop an academic career in the UK in 2008.
